Each month a new exhibit is featured in the Heeschen Gallery.  MCA hosts an open reception with refreshments to promote each new exhibit. During the reception we feature musical entertainment in the Gardner Theatre. There is no charge to attend the reception or to stop during the month to view our ever changing exhibits. We encourage the public and members to attend the reception and/or to stop at MCA to enjoy the works of area artisans.

36th  ANNUAL  OCTOBER EVENINGS JURIED EXHIBIT
 
Below is  some  basic information from our brochure that is being developed:

Eligibility:  All artists residing within 250 miles of the City of Meadville are cordially invited to enter their work. All  works must have been completed in the past two years. Anything exhibited at the MCA in the last two years will not by accepted. All  entries must be original (NO PRINTS).
 
PRIZES:  A total of $1,400.00 in prize money will be awarded. Our  judges  will select seven of the best works, and each winner will receive $200.00. We may also have Juror's Mentions. Our prizes this year include a Photography Award and the Gwendolyn Barboni Award.
 
MEDIA:  Works of Fine Art in all media may be entered. Because of space and handling considerations, works must not exceed 60 inches in any dimension or weigh more  than 100 pounds.
 
JURORS: Mark Deka, Associate Professor of Art History at Edinboro University and Clarabelle Van Niekerk, a noted local artist.
 
FEES:  Each  entrant may submit three (3) works.The fee is $8.00 per entry for members of the  MCA and $12.00 per entry for non-members. Fees for those  works not hand-delivered must  by paid by check or money order made  payable  to the Meadville Council on the Arts. There  is a $25.00 crate handling fee for out-of-town works entered by shipment.  
 
FRAMING: All works, including graphics, drawings, photographs, etc., must be  properly framed, wired, and ready for hanging. Corner clips and similar non-frame mounts are not acceptable.
 
DELIVERY:  Starting September 4, 2010, works will be accepted at MCA during regular gallery hours: Wednesday and Fridays 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
 
DEADLINE FOR ALL WORKS: Saturday, September 25th, at 2:00 pm. Works arriving after that time will not be considered.
 
OPENING:  A reception for the public, artists, and members of MCA will be held on Friday, October 1st, form 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Prizes will be awarded at approximately 8:00 pm.
