YOUTH ART MONTH

Opening Reception Friday March 5th, from 6:30 pm  - 9 pm.
Exhibit continues until March 26th

There’s  excitement in the air over the Heeschen Gallery on the second floor of the Market House! There are dragons, circus clowns, very tall people, and even a dancing monkey. No, it’s not the circus, but over 350 works of art created by elementary students from the Crawford Central School District that’s creating the stir. The exhibit, sponsored by Meadville Council on the Arts, is in celebration of Youth Art Month. Youth Art Month was created in 1961, and is observed every March as a way to emphasize the value of art education for children. The creations of the elementary children showcase their ability to think, dream, question, experiment, and challenge themselves through art. We thank the elementary art teachers (Mike Marley, Cindy Karns, Vickie Clark, and Annette Smith) for organizing the show.
