LEARN HOW TO PLAY THE PIANO! (Group Lessons)

Playing piano helps with concentration, builds confidence, instills creativity, develops eye/hand coordinaton, right/left brain interaction, listening skills, finger skills, and multi-tasking. Concepts of melody, rhythm, harmony, tone colour, and dynamics are taught through listening and notation activities. Students will learn how to read notes, write their own music, how to improvise, learn about their instrument's registration properties, as well as establish finger coordination and listening skills. With six (6) or less students in each class, there are more opportunities for individual and ensemble experiences. This is a four(4) week progressive course with each class lasting fifty (50) minutes.
Students can bring their own lightweight portable electrickeyboard. However, there are three (3) keyboards available for classroom use for those who do not have one.
Registration fee: $30 MCA Members / $40 Non-Members which is due prior to each session. The fee includes books and/or lesson material. There are some scholarships available!

COOTIE HARRIS SCHOOL OF TAI CHI

Sunday and Thursday Evenings from 7-9 PM
The Cootie Harris School of Tai Chi is affiliated with the Meadville Council on the Arts. After years of involvement in several martial arts, Cootie founded this school over twenty-five years ago. New students are welcome any time there are openings. Classes are Thursday evening and Sunday evening from 7-9 PM. Standard fee is $40 a month, with a reduced rate for members of the Council on the Arts.

SIMPLY SATURDAYS – FALL SESSIONS
Come and relax with a cup of coffee and enjoy a series of
adult workshops offered at the Meadville Council on the Arts
on Saturdays. Classes will be during the months of October and
November from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
All classes are held at MCA (2nd floor of the Market House). Each
participant should bring their own “brown bag” lunch. No
experience is necessary! Each class is $20 for MCA members
and $25 for non-members, plus the cost of materials. Classes
will be rescheduled or cancelled if there are not at least five (5)
participants.
